The Bryant Family
The Bryant family became a family on February 14th, 2012. Our little family has a special little story, that we wanted to share with people. Let’s start at the beginning, because that’s always the best place to start!
Raymond and Charlotte grew up together as children and at a young age realized that they loved each other dearly. Both were very mature for their age because of their childhood experiences and knew when they were 18 years old they would marry. Unfortunately, things did not go as they thought it would. They were separated because Charlotte was placed in foster care in October of 1996. This separation was depressing and tested both Charlotte’s and Raymond’s faith. After 15 years of struggles and tribulations, success and disappointments they amazingly found each other, when they least expected it. On June 7th, 2011 Charlotte and Raymond went to a “Soft Skills Workshop” at the Massachusetts Commission for The Blind. Neither of them new that each other was going to be attending this training session. The moment Charlotte saw Raymond she thought her heart was going to leap out of her chest. She had no clue if Raymond loved her still, but she knew she did without a doubt in her mind. Raymond knew that he loved her, but knew she had children and did not want to tell her if she was happy. That very day they promised each other that they would be friends at the very least because they still cared for each other. Months later it was clear to both that they loved each other deeply and wanted to be together for each other. On December 10th, 2011 Raymond moved in with Charlotte and they started their journey of love as a family with her children. Before they decided to get married Raymond wanted to make sure that Jayden and Mildred wanted him to be a part of their family. Both children were elated with excitement to make Raymond apart of their family. On February 14th, 2012 Charlotte and Raymond got married in Haverhill Massachusetts.
After a few months of being married Charlotte became pregnant with Zoe Bryant. Since Zoe’s birth the Bryant family has gone through a lot of trials as a family. The hardest was when all 3 Children were taken away on false accusations of abuse. This issue lasted only a month, but emotionally it felt longer. Charlotte and Raymond fought as hard as they could and even though the entire time it felt like DCF was trying to remove the children completely. In the end they won the children back and the judge telling Charlotte and Raymond that they were great parents and wanted the children returned immediately. He expressed that even though Charlotte and Raymond are disabled they have shown that they always do what’s best for their children. After that major incident the family survived being homeless and even survived the stress of helping their children deal with bullying that brought Jayden to the point that he would rather be teased than tell anyone how people were hurting him.
The one stable constant in the Bryant family’s life is their undying love for each other. Charlotte and Raymond teach their children that living by the golden rule is the only way to be honest to yourself and others who are around you every day. The Bryant family is blessed to have amazing people in their lives that make every day brighter than the last. They hope that by reading this brief story of the family, that people can see that as long as you have faith in your family, love and respect a family can survive any difficulty. Yes the journey may be bumpy and feel like there is no light at the end of the tunnel, but as long as you have each other and faith time and patience will bring good things.
